We are Stembark!

Stembark is a student-led initiative dedicated to making STEM more accessible, engaging, and inclusive for youth around the world. Through virtual events, social media outreach, educational content, and fundraising efforts, we aim to inspire the next generation of innovators. Our leadership teams and volunteers work across departments to organize meaningful experiences, build community, and break down barriers in STEM education. At Stembark, we're passionate about empowering students everywhere to explore their potential and grow through science, technology, engineering, and math.

Our Story

Stembark was founded by Madi Nguyen at the age of 14 after years of feeling limited by a lack of access to STEM opportunities beyond the standard school curriculum.

Growing up, Madi always had a deep curiosity for how things worked—despite that passion, she noticed that opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, and math in meaningful ways were scarce, especially outside the classroom. Programs were often expensive, exclusive, or simply not available in her community.

Frustrated by these barriers and inspired by her peers who shared similar struggles, she decided to build something different: a space where students of all backgrounds could grow, connect, and fall in love with STEM—no matter where they lived or what resources they had. That dream became Stembark.

What began as a small team of students running virtual workshops has now blossomed into a global youth-led initiative. With leadership and volunteers spread across the world, Stembark hosts interactive events, builds accessible learning content, and creates a supportive community for young people who want to explore STEM on their own terms.

From late-night Zoom calls to hours spent planning social media campaigns, the heart of Stembark has always been its people—passionate, driven, and endlessly creative youth working to make STEM more inclusive and exciting for everyone.
